Vehicle Parts Operations NVQ

This qualification is designed for those working within the motor vehicle industry, for example in garages, dealerships and specialist parts outlets. The programme will allow the candidate the opportunity to gain a basic understanding of the industry and to improve their skills.

We offer this qualification at two levels depending on the candidate:

Level 2
This course covers the basics of the motor vehicle industry including health and safety and processes involved.

Level 3
More advanced than the Level 2, this programme also covers the basic areas but introduces higher level topics such as providing specialist customer support and maximising sales.

Both programmes are assessed through online testing as well as in the workplace with an assessor who will help guide candidates through producing a portfolio of work.

Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (Motorsport) NVQ

This training programme is designed for those working in the specialist area of competition maintenance and repair technicians.

We are able to offer this programme at two levels:

Level 2
This course will provide a basic understanding of key areas within the industry, including routine vehicle maintenance and inspections.

Level 3
More advanced than the Level 2, the programme covers areas such as diagnosis of engine faults.

Both levels are assessed in the workplace by an assessor who will assist candidates in producing a portfolio of work for submission. Online tests will also form part of the assessment.

Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (Motorcycle) NVQ

This programme is aimed at those working in the motor vehicle industry who focus on motorcycles in garages and dealerships.

This qualification is available at two levels depending on the candidate:

Level 2
This course will cover basic areas including routine vehicle maintenance and valeting vehicles.

Level 3
Like the Level 2, this programme will cover some basic units as well as more advanced topics such as removing/fitting non-welded body panels.

This course is assessed through a work portfolio, where an assessor will help guide the candidate, and online testing.

Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (Light Vehicle) NVQ

This is a work-based qualification aimed at those working within the motor vehicle industry as technicians on light vehicles in garages, maintenance depots and dealerships.

The programme is available at two levels depending on the candidate:

Level 2
This course covers basic skills including routine vehicle maintenance and offers other opportunities for those enrolled such as removing and replacing vehicle transmission.

Level 3
More advanced than the Level 2, this course covers a number of different topics including diagnosis of engine and component faults and training others.

These qualifications are assessed both in the workplace with the help of an assessor who will guide candidates through producing a portfolio of work and through online tests.

Vehicle Fitting Operations (General Vehicle Fitting) NVQ Level 2

Offered at Level 2, this qualification covers activities within the motor vehicle industry relating to the work of fast-fit technicians on a wide range of vehicles. Aimed at those looking to start a career in the industry or those hoping to improve their skills, this course covers a range of topics including health and safety and understanding of vehicle systems.

This programme is assessed in the workplace through a portfolio, guided by a trained assessor, and online tests.

Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (Mobile Electronics and Security) NVQ Level 2

This programme is offered at Level 2 and is aimed at mobile electronics and security technicians working on a wide range of vehicles in a service van environment. Covering a range of basic skills such as pre and post vehicle inspections and electrical faults, this course will allow candidates to improve their skills.

The qualification is assessed by a portfolio of work, which will be guided by an on-site assessor.
