Safeguarding children and young people is everyone’s business whatever their role. The term ‘safeguarding’ covers a range of responsibilities that adults have towards children and young people in their care. This course has been mapped to the Children’s Workforce Development Council (CWDC) Induction Standards.

Key learning objectives:

  • Legislation and policies relating to safeguarding children and young people
  • Identifying your role in promoting healthy development with a safe environment
  • Recognising and responding when a child or young person is at risk from harm or abuse
  • How to work with others involved in the lives of children and young people to support health and well-being
What Are The Requirements?

There are no formal requirements however participants need to be working in the Childcare Learning & Development Sector.

How Is This Course Delivered?

This is delivered as a full day course in the workplace. Dependant on the course a written assessment or a multiple choice question sheet will be completed by the participants at the end of the day.
