John Harrison - Commercial Director
An Executive Board Member at Loughborough College, responsible for developing new and existing major client relationships, as well as and leading on all UK & international training & development solutions, for both the public and private sector. Over last 12 months, John has personally led Loughboroughâs commercial engagement strategy in Qatar, Dubai, and Kuwait, working with several in-country ministerial departments, as well as Qatar University, Qatar Olympic Association, Emirates NBD Bank and Mashreq Bank
Presently in the region, John is leading on the implementation of post graduate programmes for the School of Health Sciences at Qatar University, together with developing a PE research programme for the School of Sports Science at the same institution. Whilst he is also developing a sport and nutrition awareness programme for young people in Qatar, sponsored and in partnership with the Qatar Olympic Committee.
John had formally spent 25 years in executive positions with major international banks in US & UK, leading on in country and cross border transactions. In addition, during this stage of his career, he worked alongside the consultancy organisation, McKinsey, designing and project managing the delivery of substantial change programmes in the financial services sector.
John has also successfully established his own consultancy business mentoring executives of large companies in areas of strategic development.
